Welcome to Sunshine Animal Rescue, a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to giving vulnerable animals a second chance in South Florida. Based in the heart of Miami, our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate animals in need, with a particular focus on neonate bottle babies, special needs cases, large breed dogs, and those requiring urgent medical care.

In response to the critical animal crisis in our community, we provide a safe haven for those who often face uncertain futures in overcrowded shelters or on the streets. Our team is comprised entirely of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about animal welfare. Every member of our team donates their time and expertise, ensuring that every penny we receive goes directly to the care of our animals.

Sunshine Animal Rescue thrives because of the unwavering support of our Sunshine family—our donors, fosters, boarding facilities, and veterinarians. We are a community united by a common purpose: to create a compassionate environment where every animal receives the love, care, and medical attention they need to thrive.

As a nonprofit organization, we do not receive government funding. Our operations rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters, allowing us to continue our lifesaving work. Your contributions help us cover essential expenses, including medical care, food, and shelter for the animals in our care.

The well-being of our animals is at the heart of everything we do. Each animal receives vaccinations, bloodwork, microchips, spaying or neutering and more. Beyond these essential medical services, we provide individualized care tailored to each animal’s specific needs, ensuring they receive proper nutrition, enrichment, and love as they recover. For those needing extra attention, we offer the tender loving care necessary to nurse them back to optimal health.

We carefully screen all adoption applications to ensure that our animals are placed in loving homes. Each prospective adopter undergoes a thorough pre-approval process, including home and reference checks, to help guarantee a happy and fulfilling life for our animals.
