Nestled in the heart of Miami, our rescue was founded with a mission to make a positive impact on the lives of animals facing challenges in our community. Miami and surrounding areas are experiencing a critical animal epidemic, and we couldn’t stand idly by. Fueled by a desire to make a difference, Sunshine Animal Rescue was established as a sanctuary for those in need. In the face of overflowing city shelters and the immense burden on existing rescues, we emerged with the goal of alleviating the strain on our furry friends. Our team is driven by a shared passion for a brighter future for animals in Miami. Sunshine Animal Rescue is not just an organization; we are a community of animal lovers, advocates, and volunteers united by a common purpose. With a fresh approach and a commitment to collaboration, we strive to be a beacon of hope for animals facing uncertain futures.

We are a passionate and dedicated 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization committed to making a difference in the lives of our furry and feathered friends, we specialize in rescuing dogs, cats, parrots and other various small animals. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to provide love, care, and a second chance to these precious beings. We are grateful for the generous support of our donors, our boarding facilities, our fosters, our veterinarians, our fosters, and everyone in our big rescue family. We recognize that we would not be able to run without the hearts of everyone involved, each playing a crucial role in our mission to create a compassionate community where animals find a forever home filled with warmth and joy.

We prioritize the well-being of our animals. Every furry friend under our care is ensured to be a current on vaccinations, undergoes bloodwork, and is spayed or neutered. Recognizing that some arrivals may require more TLC, we devote extra time and tender loving care to nurse them back to optimal health before they are ready for adoption. We exclusively consider adoption applicants within the state of Florida. All prospective adopters undergo a pre-approval process, including a thorough home check and reference check. This ensures that our animals have the opportunity for a healthy, happy and loving rest of their lives.
