HI, I AM MIMI

RESCUED FROM: STRAY

Hi, I’m Mimi. I may be small in size, but my heart is full of love — even if it doesn’t work exactly the way it should. I was rescued from the islands and brought to the States for a better life, and for a while, it felt like everything was falling into place. But then they found my heart murmur. Further tests showed I have a congenital heart defect, and just like that, my future became uncertain.

Because of my condition, my life will be shorter than most. I’m not your typical adoptable dog — I’m what they call a “fospice” case, a dog who needs a loving home for however much time I have left. I’ve become a long-term resident here at the rescue, where I’m safe, loved, and well cared for. But if the right people came along — someone with a gentle heart and a deep understanding of what it means to love a dog through their final chapter — I would absolutely be open to a fospice home.

I’m slowing down these days. I still adore cozy naps, warm sunshine, and soft voices. I love gentle cuddles and being wrapped in a blanket like a burrito. I’m incredibly sweet, just a little tired. My energy may not be what it once was, but my need for connection and comfort has only grown.

That said, don’t let the soft side fool you — I still LOVE to chew and will rip through toys like crazy! Give me a squeaky plush and it won’t stand a chance. I may be a fospice pup, but I’ve still got that playful fire in me.

If you think your heart has room for a little dog like me — to give me peace, comfort, and love for whatever time I have left — I would be so grateful. Rescue life has given me a second chance. Maybe you could give me a soft place to land.

With love,
Mimi 🐾
