Shani is a beautiful, medium-sized mixed-breed dog with a story that will tug at your heart. Found abandoned on a rural road outside of Miami, she was left to survive in an area known as "the rock pit," a desolate spot where many dogs are dumped. Covered in dirt and desperately hungry, Shani bravely approached our team and immediately flopped onto her back, as if asking for safety and love.

Despite her tough start in life, Shani has a gentle and shy nature. Everything about living indoors and being cared for by humans is completely new to her—but also exciting! She is slowly learning to trust and adapt, making strides in her crate training and working hard on house training.

Shani was found alongside another dog, so she may enjoy having a canine companion. She has also been introduced to a cat on leash and behaved well, but we advise any potential adopters with cats to proceed with caution and supervise interactions.
